We are thinking of going on our first cruise. Once we are onboard how much money will we need for extra expenses? We have 2 adults and 2 children.

Ahoy, Andrew! Your family will absolutely love sailing with Disney Cruise Line! Once you've paid your cruise fare, you will have covered most of your onboard expenses. However, there are a few exceptions for which you might want to budget additional money. These are noted below:

    1. Alcoholic beverages, smoothies, specialty coffee drinks, and a few room service items.
    2. Dining at either Remy or Palo (be sure to make reservations in advance).
    3. Any Spa treatments (pricing varies according to treatments).
    4. Port Adventures and Shore Excursions which may be reserved and paid for prior to cruising.
    5. Babysitting services.
    6. Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique (if sailing on the Disney Fantasy).
    7. Pre-packaged snacks at the Buena Vista Theatre and the Walt Disney Theatre.
    8. Expenses incurred at the Arr-cade or Quarter Masters.
    9. Gratuities & Tips.
    10. Hair Braiding.
    11. Souvenirs.

In the past I've personally budgeted anywhere between $500 to $1000 to cover the above expenses on the shorter cruises. I usually budget more for longer itineraries. However it will mostly depend on the activities your family will wish to experience during the cruise. Please let us know if we can answer any other questions for you. Have a magical sailing with Disney Cruise Line! Bon Voyage!
