Hi there! We are thinking about a family trip to Disneyland in December. I am sure this time of the year is quite busy. Is there a certain time frame in December in which it will not be so busy? My husband is not very fond of large crowds. Thank you!

    Hi, Jennifer!

A visit to the Disneyland Resort in December sounds amazing. Mickey and his Pals work hard to have the entire Resort decked out in full holiday splendor, so enjoy all the merriment!

The best time to visit the Disneyland Resort will be earlier in the month. The closer you get to Christmas, the busier it will be. You might also find weekdays to be less crowded than weekends. To avoid crowds, I would plan to be heading home by around the 20th/21st. After that, kids will be starting their holiday breaks from school and the crowds will be rolling in!

Regardless of when you travel, you can take some steps to avoid the crowds. Start with early days in the parks. Park opening is the least crowded time of day, so get there early, enjoy smaller crowds, then head out mid-day. Head back to your pool for a break, then you can venture back to the parks for an evening of fun.

You can minimize your wait times in line by using Disney FASTPASS or upgrade to Disney MaxPass. Watch this quick video on MaxPass to see if you might enjoy booking your FASTPASS selections right from the Disneyland app on your smartphone!

December truly is magical at the Disneyland Resort, so I hope you and your Prince Charming can arrange a visit. See you real soon!
