Hi, thinking about DW early Oct to experience MNSSHP. Are the crowds generally lower than summer ? Hard to pull a child out of school, but would also like to experience this with him while he is young. Do all the parks decorate ? Can't wait to go back!

    Hi Sue,

This is a great question and one that many consider carefully when planning around school schedules. Early October is a great time to visit. In fact, it is one of my favorite times to go. The weather is still warm, but much more mild than the intense summer months. The crowds, while they can still be moderate due to events like Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and Epcot International Food and Wine Festival, they are still better than in the summer months. Since school is in session, I would recommend going during the week as the weekends can tend to be more crowded with guests traveling for the weekend or locals spending the day in the parks.

All of the parks will have decorations of some sort, but Magic Kingdom will have the most, since that is where Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party takes place.

I think your son will have the most memorable time at Walt Disney World during this festive time of year and I hope you can make it work with his schedule.

    Happy Planning!
