Thinking about doing Mickey's Backyard BBQ the night before the Princess Half. Is there direct boat service to and from Wilderness Lodge to Fort Wilderness?

Hi Kelly! Congratulations on running in the fun Princess Half Marathon this year.

The Fort Wilderness resort is located close to the Wilderness Lodge and a perfect place to go and have a dining reservation during your stay. There is a direct boat that links the Wilderness Lodge, Fort Wilderness, and Contemporary resorts throughout the day and evening. The good news is that Mickey's Backyard Barbecue is located just steps away from the marina where the boats dock. It is situated just behind the Trails End restaurant and there are signs and cast members there to direct you to the outdoor pavilion.

The food is similar to the fare at Hoop Dee Doo and it is buffet style. Beer and wine are included and there is a live show with band, singer, and then a special cowboy who loves to show the kids his rope tricks. Of course the real highlight of the show is when Mickey and his fellow characters come and dance with the kids. It can get crazy out there on the dance floor but you can't do that in too many places on property so it is extra special.
