    I am thinking of doing the 1/2 marathon in January 2016? How quickly do I need to sign up for race before it sells out? What are the host hotels? Are there hotel and park discounts for runners? Should I book a room ASAP for savings? Any advice is welcome

    I'm happy you are interested in running Disney during the 2016 Walt Disney World® Half Marathon presented by Cigna®!

    • The half marathon will be one of the first to sell out. I highly recommend being prepared to register when it opens to the public on Tuesday, April 28th at Noon, EST. Races are selling out in record time as of late and this distance is quite popular. 
    • All Walt Disney World Resort Hotels are considered "host hotels" for this race event. So no matter where you choose to stay, you will have access to event transportation for all race activities. 
    • There will not be any discounted accommodation rates or theme park tickets available through runDisney during this premier race weekend. However, there are ways to save on that perfect castle. You can read all about it by selecting the highlighted link.  Also, if you decide to book before any special offers are released, you can always modify your reservation to reflect new promotional prices. Special Offers available through Walt Disney World® that include January's race dates will not be released until October. 
    • Another tip is to book your accommodations through official runDisney Travel Partners like GetTravel and Acclaim. These travel partners not only offer discounted rooms, but discounted theme park tickets as well. I've used GetTravel several times! For more information on this option, visit the REGISTRATION tab on the Walt Disney World® Marathon Weekend presented by Cigna® homepage on the runDisney website and select the Travel Partners link.
