Ahoy Becky –
There is nothing better than a
Land and Sea Vacation since you get the best of both worlds with adventure at the
Walt Disney World Resort and relaxation with
Disney Cruise Line. In fact, I am having some withdrawals here on my second week back from our Land and Sea Vacation, so thank you for sharing your excitement with me! Our trip a couple of weeks ago started off with a week on the
Fantasy followed by a stay at the
Beach Club Resort and fun at Walt Disney World. My family has also done it the other way around – staying at our favorite Walt Disney World Resort and then finishing off with a relaxing cruise. Everyone has a different opinion on the order of things, but you should tailor your experience to the needs of your family. For my family, a trip to The Walt Disney World Resort involves adventures, plenty of walking, lots of late night Extra Magic Hours, and very little sleep. We just love it so much that we cannot get enough. It is for this reason that we try to tour the Parks first since we go full throttle at Disney World. Our cruises are almost like hibernation for us since we choose Inside Staterooms (dark), sleep in late every morning, unwind in loungers on Deck 4, and relax at the beach and pools. For my pirate crew, relaxing at the end helps us transition back to the real world afterwards. On the rare instances that we cruise first and then visit the Parks, we have to make a concerted effort not to stay up late and try to take it easy. Becky, I hope this helps with your travel planning and thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
