We are thinking of doing a Disney Cruise in September with our 6 year old. We know it's low season. Does this mean we should expect only very young children during that time of year? Will he be a lonely 6 year old if we go during the off season?

    Hi, Christine!

The fall is a great time of year to consider a family vacation on Disney Cruise Line (DCL).  Most U.S. kids are back in school by September.  Therefore, the fares are customarily low, and the discounts and specials are easier to find.

Yet, remember that DCL draws guests from many different countries. So, the Youth Clubs will still be busy with children of all ages and from all over the world. Your son will certainly not get lonely and won't be the oldest child on the ship either.  Like our family, some guests feel that a special or discount warrants allowing children to miss some school. Our belief is that traveling is an enrichment experience, and since they are good students, we have never received any unfavorable feedback from our their schools.

I hope that relieves your concerns, and I bet that your son is going to love cruising with DCL as much as you are! Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
