I am thinking about a Disneyland trip this summer. If I book a package at a Good neighbor hotel - can I get a full refund on tickets if my vacation needs to be cancelled. I am used to traveling to Disney World where packages can be cancelled 45 days out.

Hey Allison! Welcome back to planDisney! Late summer is such a great time to visit the Disneyland Resort. Most of the local schools are newly back in session and the summer crowds start to disperse a bit. It can be warm, so be sure to pack your sunblock and look forward to some Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars to stay cool!

Similar to the packages you have experience with at the Walt Disney World Resort, there is a window that allows for refundable cancelations for the Disneyland Resort and Good Neighbor Hotels as well. Any modifications and cancellations made more than 30 days out from your arrival are fully refundable. If you have to cancel within 6-29 days of arrival, you will be refunded the cost of your vacation minus the $200 deposit and any changes made may be subject to a modification fee. The real window that you need to be aware of is that if you are within 5 days, the package is fully nonrefundable.

I'd love to share a few of my keep cool tips and tricks!

    1. Make a lunch reservation. This is guaranteed time out of the sun while relaxing with your friends or family. It will often revive me and my family with a boost of energy to hit the parks again in the afternoon. It also allows us a minute to slow down and make the day feel longer. Some of my favorite lunch spots are Storytellers Cafe and Lamplight Lounge. Reservations will open up to you 60 days ahead of your arrival.

    2. A Frozen Lemonade or Apple Juice from the Fantasyland Fruit Cart next to Casey Jr. Circus Train. My personal favorite is the Apple Juice - just the right amount of sweet and tart ... in a souvenir sipper, of course! This will be such a refreshing burst of flavor when you are stepping off each attraction, and, since it's frozen, it stays extra cold!

    3. Take a mid-afternoon pool break at your hotel. Truly, the best way to refresh! It will also give you a little break from the park hustle and bustle so you can return for the nighttime festivities. There is just nothing more magical than the evenings at the Disneyland Resort with the sparkly lights lighting up Main Street, U.S.A.

    4. Pop into the Animation Academy or Mickey's PhilharMagic at Disney California Adventure Park. These might be the best-kept secrets! Learn to draw some favorite Disney characters from animators themselves or enjoy 12 glorious air-conditioned minutes watching the 3D Mickey's PhilharMagic. It's cool AND delightful!

    5. Grab a Lightning Lane for Splash Mountain or Grizzly River Run. Likely no explanation needed here! Just some pure joy with an expected splash or two!

Allison, no matter how you decide to spend your time at the Happiest Place on Earth, you will be making memories that last a lifetime! If you have any other questions, come back to see us real soon!

    Keep wishing on those stars,
    Tara
