Hi, we're thinking about going to Disney World next year, but need help finding affordable lodging for our family of 6 (kids 13, 11, 5, and 2) and character dining that will make 3 girls and my 5 yr old son all happy. Anything with princesses and others?

    Hi Michelle,

The perfect place to stay for a family of six on a budget at Walt Disney World is a family suite at either Disney's All Star Music Resort or Disney's Art of Animation Resort.  These accommodations have plenty of room for six and they are situated in colorful, fun resorts in the heart of the magic.  You may want to pay particular attention to Disney's Art of Animation Resort because it is the newest of Disney's many wonderful resorts.  Two adjacent standard rooms at the Disney value resorts would house your family nicely too.  Sometimes this option is even less expensive than a family suite.  Price out both room configurations before you make your reservation.

As for character dining, you can't beat Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in the Norway Pavilion of Epcot or Cinderella's Royal Table in the Magic Kingdom if you seek a meal with the Disney princesses.  I bet your son would particularly enjoy having breakfast with Stitch and Mickey at 'Ohana in the Great Ceremonial House at Disney's Polynesian Resort.  This is a great place to dine if you are spending the day at the Magic Kingdom because this park is only a short monorail ride away from Disney's Polynesian Resort.  Of course, the classic character dining experience for both boys and girls can be found at Chef Mickey's in Disney's Contemporary Resort.  That, too, is just a short monorail ride away from the Magic Kingdom.

No matter which character dining experiences you choose, be sure to call (407) WDW-DINE 180 days in advance of your vacation to make reservations.  These very popular experiences fill to capacity quickly.
