We are thinking of going to Disney for our first time in February. What would be the best options?

Hi Kevin! Congratulations on beginning to plan your first ever Walt Disney World Resort vacation! That’s really exciting! I know the options probably feel a little overwhelming! But that’s why you came to planDisney!

Kevin, I’m going to start you with the “basics” but then I encourage you to come back to us with more specific questions so that we can tailor our answers to best fit your needs! Let’s get started!

First things first! Go to the Walt Disney World Resort website and create your My Disney Experience account! This account will help you manage all of your vacation plans including your resort reservation, Disney Dining reservations, theme parks tickets and passes, and so much more! And, of course, there is a My Disney Experience app!

Next, you need to start thinking about which resort you will call “home” during your visit! I recommend staying on property at a hotel in the Disney Resorts Collection! Not only will this keep you “in the magic” but you will also be provided with complimentary transportation around the entire Walt Disney World Resort during your vacation! The Disney Resorts Collection offers hotels in the value, moderate, and deluxe categories. A few recommendations that I like to make in each category are: Disney’s Art of Animation Resort (value), Disney’s Pop Century Resort (value), Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort - Gran Destino Tower (moderate), Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort (moderate), Disney’s Yacht Club Resort (deluxe), Disney’s Riviera Resort (deluxe), and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa (deluxe)! And, there are many other options from which to choose!

Next, start taking a look at the Disney Dining options! You will definitely want to book some dining reservations while on your vacation! Dining is one of the features that I get most excited about when visiting! Guests can make reservations 60-days prior to their vacation check-in date!

Finally, Kevin, if you want to visit us again for more advice, feel free to let us know if you’re traveling “solo,” as a couple, or with kids! We’ll happily provide some additional details for you!
