Thinking of going to disney California first week of novermber. will halloween still be up? when does christmas fully start? don't want to be caught in the time between, mainly going for nightmare before christmas decor!

Hi there, Sarah. Welcome to planDisney.

I’m delighted to see you’re planning a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth in early November. Magic happens every day at the Disneyland Resort! And that means, when Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort ends on October 31, most (if not all!) Halloween décor would likely be gone by November 1. However, since Holidays at the Disneyland Resort will begin on November 14, you may start to see transitions towards the holiday season. Don’t be surprised to see “snow” sparkling on top of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle or find holiday merchandise in the shops.

Unfortunately, seeing that you’ll be visiting on November 3, you will likely be caught between Halloween and the Holidays. However, fret not, Sarah! I’m happy to report that Haunted Mansion Holiday will be available for you to enjoy. I see that you mentioned you’re mainly coming to the Disneyland Resort for this. This holiday overlay will run from August 22 through January 7, 2026! Get ready to see what surprises Jack Skellington and the other residents of Halloween Town have in store! I can’t wait to see this year’s gingerbread house design in the ballroom of the Haunted Mansion.

If you have further questions for us as you continue to plan your upcoming visit, please don’t hesitate to visit us on planDisney again.

    Sending you pixie dust,
    Kiki

Meet the Panelist: Kiki, California

Greetings! I have been fascinated by the magic of Disney since I was a little girl; now that I am a mother of two, I love watching my children experience Disney Parks through their own eyes. I am also surrounded by fellow Disney-loving nurse friends whom I enjoy quick adults-only Disneyland Resort escapes or Disney Cruise Line voyages with. Whether you are planning your once-in-a-lifetime family trip or a short adults-only getaway to the Happiest Place on Earth, I am here to help!
