Are they still thinking about decorating for Christmas this year? What about the hotels and parks? Should we try to plan for next year? We are really hoping to go this year.

    Hello, Victoria,

Thank you for sending your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  Visiting Walt Disney World during Christmas is so magical.  It is as if Tinkerbell has sprinkled all sorts of pixie dust throughout the parks and resorts to make them come to life with holiday charm.   The decorations become an attraction for me that I can spend hours enjoying.  One of my favorite spots to soak in all the joy of Christmas is at Disney's Hollywood Studios.  I grab a holiday drink from the Trolley Car Cafe and sit next to Echo Lake enjoying all the holiday  decor while listening to the Christmas music floating through the air.  It is my happy place!

As of today, Walt Disney World has not announced any Holiday Events or Celebrations or if anything will change with holiday decorations.  With the goal of continued Health and Wellness of both guests and cast members, Walt Disney World will be carefully thinking through how the holidays will look.  If I were to guess, I would think they will do as much as they can to bring holiday decor into the parks and resorts because it is such a beloved tradition. However, it may look different as they will want to continue to follow Health and Safety Guidelines.

If you decide to plan a trip for this year, I'd start by looking over the Know Before You Go information as it contains news and updates for guests visiting Walt Disney World.  Similarly, the Disney Resorts are not all open at this time, and some will gradually begin opening over the next months.  To visit the theme parks, you will need to make reservations through the Disney Park Pass system prior to your arrival. Disney Dining reservations can be made 60 days in advance. It can be a lot to think through, but please be reassured of Disney's commitment to Health and Safety and the extra measures they are taking to do this.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.  Wishing you a Disney Day!  -Kara
