Thinking about contemporary in June/July. Will be driving to AK, HS, DD. Is it quicker to take monorail to Epcot or drive? For MK, is the monorail or walking easier from Bay View Tower rooms? DD3, DS6, DS7 is handicapped. Opinions on Contemp/Driving?

Although it is probably quicker to drive from The Contemporary to Epcot, it's only a 30-minute ride from The Contemporary to Epcot via the monorail.  With three children, the monorail ride is practically an added attraction, so I would opt for it, even with the skywalk from Bay Lake Tower. Best of all, if your 7-year-old son has mobility issues, the monorail may be easier to navigate than getting in and out of your car....As for Magic Kingdom, it's definitely quicker to walk, especially from BLT, however, with three young children, remember that you will be crossing a road and navigating traffic: if you don't have enough hands for "one-on-one" coverage with them, I'd take the monorail for added safety.

Like you, our family opts to drive when we have a car, especially to Animal Kingdom which closes early and Disney's Hollywood Studios with its parking lot that seems SO close to the theme park.  However, we find that finding a parking space after 11 a.m. at Downtown Disney is a nightmare, not to mention the traffic, so for it, I'd recommend taking the bus!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
