Hiya! Welcome back to planDisney, Lisa! We’re so glad you stopped by with another fabulous question.
Is there anything better than a dip in the pool on vacation? Actually, there is! A dip in the pool while on a
Walt Disney World vacation! All of the pools are the
Disney Resorts Collection hotels are so fantastic, each with its own fun and unique theme that is bound to have you diving right in! And don’t even get me started on the awesome water slides at some of the resorts! My favorite is the slide at
Disney’s Beach Club Resort and
Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. Who wouldn’t want to shoot down a slide built in the shape of an epic pirate ship?! But, of course, no matter which resort you’re staying at, you’re bound to want to kick back poolside, so let’s talk about the weather!
The weather in Florida is notoriously unpredictable! I have been there in December with temperatures as high as 85 degrees and as low as 50. So, knowing what to expect during your visit can be a little tricky. However, I can say that the average high for early December is about 72-76 degrees, and the average low is approximately 54-58 degrees. Now, all the pools at Walt Disney World are heated to a comfortable 82 degrees all year round. So, it really all depends on how determined your daughter is to swim! I would say that temperatures in the 70s are pretty comfortable for swimming, but it is definitely a personal preference.
I would recommend working in some pool time into your itinerary, and if it is too chilly, you can take advantage of some of the other awesome recreation activities available at your resort. There is a Recreation Activities board available in the lobby of each hotel, where you'll find the schedule of fun events, activities, and so much more! If it does end up being nice enough for some time in the pool, be sure to note the list of poolside activities on the schedule. You won't want to miss out on the pool games for the little ones and the Disney trivia that's fun for the whole family!
I am so excited for you to visit Walt Disney World. Come rain or shine, I just know you will have such an amazing time, especially since you will be visiting during
The Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration! Please visit us again soon with any other questions you may have!
Have a fabulous day!
