Hi! We are thinking about coming to Disney World for the week of 12/19. We are celebrating our 30th Anniversary. We were there 12/8 last year and it was packed; thoughts?

Hi Tim! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. It is so great to hear from you again!

First let me start by congratulating you on 30 years of marriage! Make sure to get an “I’m Celebrating” button at the front desk of your Resort Hotel upon check in!  I have personally found that as Christmas begins to approach, the Theme Parks seem to get busier. I have also visited during that third week of December and my experience too has been that it is very busy. If your dates are flexible you can use a website like Touring Plans to look at crowd prediction calendars. Although these are “unofficial” they have always been a helpful guide to me when planning when to visit.

If your dates are not flexible, go in with a plan. Make sure to make all Dining Reservations before you arrive. Dining Reservations can be made starting 180 days in advance of your arrival date. Also make sure to take advantage of Fastpass+. By reserving return times in advance of your stay you can cut down on some of the wait times for attractions and entertainment. Lastly try to think about going with the flow. I have found that the less I stress out over long wait times and crowded parks the more fun I have! Make sure to relive your youth. Skip down the middle of Main Street, U.S.A. like no one is watching, indulge in Mickey Ice Cream Bars, wear your Mickey Mouse Ear Hats with pride, Soar on Dumbo the Flying Elephant, snuggle up together while the wishes nighttime spectacular lights up the night sky, and lastly fall even more in love together!

    Have a wonderful anniversary celebration!
