Thinking of coming to Disney Jan. 2-8th, 2013 (park days Jan 3-7) with my husband, DS (7) and DD (10). Would this be a very busy time to come? Would like to stay AKL - do you think we can swim in the pool at that time of year? Can you suggest itinerary?

    Hi Janis,

Thanks for writing.  In general, the crowds thin out rapidly after the week between Christmas and New Years, as schools tend to go back in session right after the holiday.  You may find some lingering crowds on the 2nd, but the parks should go back to moderate capacity quickly as your vacation progresses.  Animal Kingdom Lodge is a magnificent property and a truly spectacular place to call "home" while enjoying your Disney vacation.  I would highly recommend it!  The pools at all of the Disney resorts and water parks are heated to a comfortable temperature, so if you catch a sunny afternoon (which you likely will several days during your trip) you can absolutely swim!  As for an itinerary, I would suggest Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom, followed by a "repeat" trip to whichever park your family most enjoyed.  Have a magical trip!
