Hi Michelle, and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
Meeting characters is a must-do for my family. We have had the best conversations, hugs, laughs, and magical moments with our favorite characters over the years, and we love looking back at the photos of those lovely memories.
I’ve seen Guests present lots of different items to be autographed by characters; it’s so cool to see all the creative ideas! Remember that not every character signs autographs, and signing on anything other than an autograph book is at the discretion of the character attendant, but I think you’ll be able to collect signatures from many Disney friends.
I recommend bringing the cardboard mat from the picture frame rather than the frame itself, as that is nice and flat and easy to sign. When I’ve seen Guests do that in the past, they usually keep the mat between two stiff pieces of cardboard in an envelope to keep it in good shape during their theme park travels. You’ll also want to bring a nice Sharpie or other marker that will look great but won’t bleed. Bonus points if the marker clicks to open (instead of a cap) – the characters love those!
When choosing your frame and what to bring with you into the parks, take a look at the
Walt Disney World Park Rules. One item that’s prohibited in the parks is glass, so you will want to be sure not to bring any glass parts from the frame.
Michelle, have so much fun meeting characters and collecting memories. There are
so many fun new character experiences in the theme parks right now, and I know you’re going to have a blast!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
