I am thinking about bringing my parents to Disney World after Christmas- maybe around January 2nd or 3rd? I would like to come when it is still decorated for the holidays. They are older and cannot walk long distances. The motorized vehicles are limited?

Hello Susan, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

You are an amazing daughter to bring your parents to the Walt Disney World Resort after the holidays. Anytime is a great time for a visit, but you will be able to catch a glimpse of the holiday magic before it disappears.

There are electric conveyance vehicles, also referred to as ECVs available to rent at Disney Theme Parks and Disney Springs. ECVs are available on a first come, first served basis at wheelchair and stroller rentals near the entrances to all theme parks. However, there are no ECVs available at Disney Resort Hotels. So if you were planning to take your parents to visit other resorts to see their decorations, you may need another option.

Disney has a list of featured ECV providers that will allow you to rent an ECV during the entire length of your stay. These companies will deliver the ECV to your resort and pick it up when your trip is over. You can find a list of providers here that you can call for pricing and make arrangements to have them delivered to your resort hotel. I just returned from a trip last week that I took with some of my fellow panelists and used an ECV during my entire trip while I recover from an injury earlier in the year. I am glad that I did choose to rent from a company off-site because the construction of new bus stops at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has temporarily increased the distance to the on-site ECV rental quite a bit. At the end of the night, the walk would have been too much for me. Disney Bus Transportation can accommodate 2 ECVs at a time. I hope that helps with your planning. See ya real soon,
