Hi, Amy!
Your granddaughter is one lucky girl having a very cool grandma to take her to Walt Disney World! You are going to have a wonderful adventure together for sure!
The
Wild Africa Trek is an entire experience which includes crossing a rope bridge. Because everyone must stay together with the guides, I am not sure skipping any of the 3-hour Safari Adventure is possible. I suggest calling Wild Africa Trek Operations at (407) 938-1373 for options or alternate activities.
You might opt for something a bit shorter and less taxing like the
Caring for Giants tour. This is part of the
Enchanting Extras Collection available at
Animal Kingdom and can be
booked online. On this one-hour tour, you get a closer look at the beautiful African Elephants. You will learn about the keeping and care of these majestic animals and learn about their habitats and conservation efforts.
If this is your granddaughter's first visit, you may want to start off with
Kilimanjaro Safaris. This 18-minute safari adventure takes you out into the African Savanah to see animals roaming and interacting with each other. To keep the "wild" fun going, take a stroll through the
Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail. I really enjoy walking through this trail at a leisurely pace where you can see so many animals in their natural spaces. Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail, as well as Kilimanjaro Safaris, are both included with your theme park admission to Disney's Animal Kingdom.
If you are looking for a quick bite to eat after all this adventure,
Flame Tree Barbecue is a nice spot for chicken, ribs, and delicious side dishes. This is a quick service location, so no reservations are needed and there is plenty of shady seating.
I hope you find the perfect way to spend your day at Animal Kingdom!
Cathy
