    I am thinking about booking a trip to wdw but don't know which hotel to stay in port orleando / riverside / cornado springs - the party will be me and my husband with 2 boys 8 and 10 . We have been to disney lots of time but only stay in all-stars .Thanks

    Hi Dee,

    I think your family would enjoy Port Orleans Riverside or Coronado Springs Resort. My 11 year old loves both resorts but he says the pool slide at Coronado Springs is better! So, if you enjoy swimming, perhaps you'll want to take that bit of info into account!

    Both resorts offer wonderful amenities at a reasonable value. At Riverside, you'll have the option of taking the Sassagoula Riverboat to Downtown Disney. While the Coronado Springs resort offers rooms with queen beds. Depending on when you are thinking of traveling, Port Orleans Riverside is undergoing some renovations (one building at a time) and will have queen beds in each room upon completion.

    At each resort, you'll have a food court (my preference is the Pepper Market at Coronado) as well as a table service restaurant.

    Transportation via bus to the parks seems a little quicker from Coronado in our experience.

    I would look at pictures of each resort as well as the menus for the food courts. This will help determine which resort is best for your family.  One site with good pictures and some menus is www.AllEars.Net.

    If you were also considering Port Orleans French Quarter, I can tell you that while the rooms were recently refurbished, the pool slide is geared towards young kids. This is a small and charming resort however.
