We are thinking about booking a trip in November 2011, and I have looked at Coronado Springs and Animal Kingdon lodge.....would you suggest splurging on the deluxe place or not? We will be there from a Wednesday-Sunday. It's my son's 1st trip to WDW.

Don't get me wrong, Coronado Springs is a wonderful resort filled with Disney magic, but if my budget allowed it, I'd prefer the Animal Kingdom Lodge.  It is such an amazing journey into the beauty of Africa; something I can't experience here in the United States.  And even if you are staying in a standard room, there are look outs throughout the entire resort to let you look out at the savannas and animals.  I also prefer the coziness of the Animal Kingdom Lodge since it has only 972 rooms in one building compared to Coronado's 1915 rooms spread over 13 buildings that surround a lake.

However, if splurging for a deluxe resort makes the trip stressful with your budget, then I would question if it is worth it.  And remember, you can visit the Animal Kingdom Lodge without being a guest there -- maybe you'd like to have dinner there.  Just an fyi - our favorite restaurant is Boma.
