Hi Grace!
Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question! How much fun to be planning your first Disney Cruise! We recently returned from a cruise aboard the Disney Dream during the second week of January and it didn't seem crowded at all! Much like Luke Skywalker deciding to leave Dagobah, you have an important decision to make.
I was so excited to hear that Disney Cruise Line brought back
Star Wars Day at Sea for the early 2018 sailings! I believe the itineraries you're eyeing in January will be popular, but probably not as crowded as those Star Wars Day at Sea cruises that fall in the middle of kids' spring breaks (in March or April). Grace, there's more excitement than a pod race onboard, I'd hate for you to miss it!
One of my favorite activities onboard a Disney Cruise is to watch movies in the Buena Vista Theatre. With the next Star Wars movie coming out this December, I don't need to use the Force to bet that it will be showing during your cruise! Your Padawan will love possibly walking past a Stormtrooper on his way to the beverage station, or maybe brushing elbows with a Wookiee as he's walking on deck. In this
Disney Parks Blog announcement there are links to some of the highlights from last year's galactic voyages!
Without a doubt, any voyage aboard the Disney Cruise Line is filled with magic and adventure. For your family's inaugural Disney Cruise, how exciting would it be for you to sail alongside Captain Mickey and Darth Vader to a "galaxy far, far away"!?
"May the Force be with you" onboard,
Beth
