I am thinking of going to a Animal Kingdom next month for my daughters 10th birthday. We will also have a 1 year old with us. Are there things for him to enjoy and rides that I can take him on?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Martha! I took my one year old to Disney’s Animal Kingdom last summer and she enjoyed a lot of attractions!

Our first stop with Baby Girl was the TriceraTop Spin, which is a Dumbo-like attraction in that it raises, lowers, slowly rotates and is quite a thrill for the littles. Next up, we hit the Photo Booths with our Memory Maker, visited the Festival of the Lion King, Kilimanjaro Safaris (our favorite rides are just before dusk so the animals are cool and ready to walk around!). Last, our little family topped off the evening as Pandora started to glow with a boat ride on Na’vi River Journey. We also took our time in the park, stopping at the Wilderness Explorer Stations to play a game, learn about environment and conservation. This summer, your kids will really enjoy the new UP! A Great Bird Adventure Show as Russell and Dug join the stage with live birds! You may also want to take in Finding Nemo the Musical for a little extra song and dance as well as  a respite from the Florida temperatures.

I hope you have a WILD time at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! If I can help you choose a family restaurant for a meal or another suggestion for kids of differing ages, please let me know. I’m roaring to help you! ~ Lindsey P.
