    We're thinking about going to Akershus while we are visiting in May. My daughter has autism and pizza is her favorite food. But I need to know if Akerhaus is dark. We can handle noise (we have noise cancelling headphones) but can't do dark.

    Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is a wonderful way to see the Princesses and dine on some excellent food. I'm sure your daughter will have a magical time there. The restaurant, in my opinion, has lots of natural light and is fairly lit up. I have never felt as if it is a dark or dimly lit restaurant like some other places at Walt Disney World, such as Coral Reef, Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater, or Rainforest Cafe. If you are still unsure, you could do a google search online for "photos of Akershus at Walt Disney World" and make that call based on your experience. You could also call Disney Dining once you've made the reservation and ask them to make a note or request on your reservation that you would like a table closer to a window and possibly explain the situation. While this request cannot be guaranteed, the cast members are very helpful in trying to do their best to accommodate you and your family.
