Thinking way ahead (11/13) should we get two 2-bedroom villas or 4 seperate rooms? We belong to DVC but would only have pts for one villa. Pros vs cons? Week b4 or week after thanksgiving?

    Hi, Heidi!

I think that your choice between the two types of villas you mention really depends on a couple of considerations.  What you gain with a two bedroom villa, as opposed to a studio, for example, is a full kitchen and the washer / dryer in your own unit.  For my family, both of those items are important.

Something else to consider is the age of the members of your traveling party.  Do you need to be able to have access to those 13-year olds sharing a bedroom?  Is there a little one who will want to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa during the trip? Keep in mind, too, that each Disney Vacation Club property is a bit different from each other, so the number of beds per unit type varies.

Regarding timeframe?  If you can either go before or after Thanksgiving, if you are going to include Thanksgiving Day in that week, the parks tend to be heaviest two to three days on either side of the holiday itself.  If you are staying away from that week entirely, then I would check the Special Events pages of the four main parks to see if there is a "don't miss" event for you and your party, had you only known about it!

Please feel free to send me another question with the specifics of your traveling party and the needs you may have.  I'd love to help you choose the best options for your upcoming trip!
