How do you think the weather will be the first week in December? We were planning afternoon down time at our hotel in the pool, will it be warm enough? Are there any alternatives to the pool idea? Thank you!

The weather in the off-season can be unpredictable. We've been there when it's hot and comfortably warm even at night but also experienced rain and jacket/pants weather.

Last year, temperature highs in the first week of December ranged from 63-82. Lows were 49-65. My best advice is to pack layers. Also check the forecast a few days out from your departure date.

You can always add extra jeans and take out a few pairs of shorts, if necesssary. During the Moms Panel training trip last December we were surprised to have days in the 80s with high humidity and beautiful evenings in the low 60s. I think that was a little dose of Mickey magic though. I hope your family enjoys that kind of weather too!

The pools are heated and most children don't seem to mind swimming when the water is warmer than the air. The lifeguards however are sometimes bundled in jackets and under blankets. Those Floridians get chilled easily!

When the weather isn't cooperating, we spend time at Downtown Disney for shopping, playing at the Lego Imagination Center and having a nice meal. DisneyQuest and the theater offer entertainment as well.

We also like to tour the other resorts. Seeing the animals at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, watching the geyser at the Wilderness Lodge, strolling the torchlit paths at the Polynesian and sitting in the Grand Floridian's lobby are just a few fun activities. In December, you'll get to see all of the wonderful holiday decor which makes touring the resorts a merry-making activity.
