You read correctly that Disney’s Magical Express Service is ending service starting in 2022. Beginning with
Walt Disney World Resort hotel reservations starting January 1, 2022,
Walt Disney World Resort will no longer offer Disney’s Magical Express Service as complimentary transportation from Orlando International Airport (MCO) to the Resort hotels.
The good news is that there are still a number of convenient transportation options for you. Even better, these options offer greater flexibility to get you where you want to go when you want to go. Tops on my list are the ride-sharing services (like Uber and Lyft). Another option is the Mears Transportation Group which offers shuttle vans. Taxi cabs are another option. If you take a look at the Parking & Transportation information on the Orlando International Airport (MCO) website, you'll see more details on these transportation options. The ride sharing websites also offer information and estimates to help you plan your trips.
Personally, I've enjoyed great success and super convenient and comfortable travel using ride-sharing services for my Walt Disney World Resort vacations. On one of our vacations, we made extensive use of ride-sharing services, not only for the trips to and from the airport, but also getting around Walt Disney World Resort. I recall it took just a little over 20 minutes to get from the airport to our hotel, and using the ride share app to schedule and meet the driver was quick and easy. Getting around Walt Disney World Resort, like when we wanted to use ride sharing to get to a dinner reservation, was just as quick and easy.
