I think we might need to order groceries for our stay at the Contemporary. What size milk container can fit in the room's fridge? Is there a snack shop in the resort that sells yogurt and NSA apple juice? Do you have any advice for getting a late checkout?

Hi Matt! The room refrigerators are actually quite small and they often don't cool down as much as your home one will. I hesitate keeping things like milk, baby formula etc in them and certainly wouldn't keep things for a long period of time. They can handle up to a half gallon size container but it is easier to have quart size. All Disney resorts will have shops that sell some food items with the resorts that have DVC villa rooms having more to choose from.

Your best bet to get the exact food items you might want during your stay is to use one of the grocery delivery services. I use gardengrocer.com and love the choices you will find on their web site. You can choose a delivery date and they will deliver your order to your resort. They can cover just about any of your needs from baby items to food staples to sun screen.  If you choose to use this you will need to reserve your delivery date ahead of time and I suggest about three weeks as they limit the number of deliveries for each day.

If you are visiting during a slower time you can likely get a late check-out up to 1pm. If the resort is full and the rooms will need to be turned over for the next guests coming in it will be hard to get this request. Since they put in the new key system for the rooms with the key card simply needing to be held in front of the door it is even more difficult to go beyond the 11am check-out. The doors will automatically lock at 11am so if you leave the room you will not be able to get back in. The front desk frowns on guests delaying....you would be surprised how many headed to parks and ignored the official check out time in the past.  That just made it more difficult for the housekeeping members to get the rooms ready for the next guests. We all want our room when we arrive and Disney is trying its hardest to make this happen.
