    Do you think a family of 4 (2 adults and 5 y/o twins) would spend $600 in dining for 6 days/7 nights? The twins are not big eaters.

    Hi, Tracy!  There are so many options when it comes to WDW dining that it would boggle your mind, and therefore, it's a little difficult to give you an educated guess for your question. However, I'm going to try to give you a "short" answer for your planning purposes. You can certainly limit yourself to only $100 per day for your family of four for dining. However, that would mean only quick food (counter service) and most certainly sharing.

    I usually don't like to give someone a pat answer about dining because every group enjoys a different family culture about eating while on vacation. Some like to sit down for every meal, and dining is part of the vacation experience. Some like to eat on the go because they don't want to miss anything to do or see, and then, of course, there are dietary restrictions or just plain picky eaters. Yet, I will say that as a rule of thumb for my family, I like to plan approximately $10 per person for breakfast, $20 per person for lunch and $30 per person for dinner -- per day.  This just gives me a basic guideline, and if we choose to go over for breakfast on a particular day, then we know we need to scale back for lunch and dinner -- or vice versa.

    This general rule also helps me when free dining is offered, and I can compare it to what we normally do versus what we would like to do in terms of WDW dining options. (Sometimes it's worth it to us just to be on the dining plan for all the character meals we want to experience.)
