Hi! Do you think that the 20th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Marathon (week of January 4-8th) will be really busy? (We can vacation first week of January or February, and trying to choose the least busy week for a great vacation!). Thank you!

    Hi Amanda,

You are definitely on top of things with your planning research. You are correct that next year's Walt Disney World Half Marathon is celebrating its 20th anniversary! Marathon weekend can be quite busy with all of the runDisney activities and events. Because of the special anniversary run, I would suspect it will be even more so this upcoming January. With that said, I think it might be worth it to you to choose the first week of February instead, since that is also an option for you. Early February is a pleasant time to come with its milder temperatures with highs in the mid 70s and lows in the 50s. There is typically less rainfall in the winter months than there is during the rest of the year.

Please keep in mind that it is difficult to anticipate crowd levels on any given day. Be sure to keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog as they announce new and upcoming events and news. I hope you will stop back by with more questions as your planning gets under way. We all would love to help you with more suggestions and recommendations.

    Happy Planning,
