Hi Shari,
I have an 11-year-old daughter, so I have some experience traveling with girls about the age of yours! Let me offer you some suggestions.
Since everyone in your party likes animals, a trip to
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park is a must. A ride on Kilimanjaro Safaris to see exotic animals is a must-do. Also consider the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail and Maharajah Jungle Trek to see animals at your own pace. For something a little off of the beaten path, take a ride on the Wildlife Express Train out to Rafiki's Planet Watch. There, you will find
Conservation Station, which includes the opportunity to see veterinarians treating animals. For an extra treat, consider booking the
Wild Africa Trek. This adventure is available for guests ages 8 years and older and 48 inches and taller, and includes crossing an amazing rope bridge, unique views of animals, and the chance to dine in an amazing location on the savanna.
Also, consider dining at one of the locations at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. At Jambo House, you could head to Boma or Jiko. At Kidani Village, Sanaa is a great option. These locations all feature delicious and slightly exotic fare, and after your meal, you can head out to see animals on the savannas. At Sanaa, some tables even are next to windows that look directly onto the savanna!
Finally, I suggest that you and your traveling party watch the
Walt Disney World planning video online. This may give everyone some additional thoughts on experiences they would like to have at Walt Disney World. Please let us know if you have any further questions, Shari!
