things to do outside Disney World, such as fishing

    Howdy Diana!

Welcome to planDisney!  Thank you for sharing another question with our panel!

I grew up in Gulf Shores, AL, on the Gulf of Mexico, and fishing has always been something that I enjoyed and is very relaxing!  I have never fished outside the Walt Disney World property, but there are so many options on Walt Disney World property.  One of my favorites is casting my pole at the Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort!  This resort offers lots of amenities, but one of my favorites is reeling in a nice fish that gives you a little fight!  All “fishing” on the Walt Disney World property is catch and release, but the most fun of fishing for me is reeling fishing in!  I have placed a link in the above text “fishing,” so you can explore all your fishing options!  As the Walt Disney World continues to reopen resorts, you will find several that offer a little fishing fun!  Keep in mind that most locations will allow you to use your fishing pole.

I recommend keeping an eye on the “Know Before You Go” resort site; this way, you will be informed of all the fishing locations before you arrive!  My family and I have enjoyed many fishing excursions, and we have enjoyed some of our best down times in the resort, relaxing and waiting for a bite!

To stay informed of everything happening in 2021, check out the Disney Parks Blog!  The Disney Parks Blog is the best place to find out everything on the horizon for the months to come!  There are so many exciting attractions scheduled to open in the next calendar year.  March is the perfect time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort!  The Florida weather is “Practically Perfect in Every Way,” and I can’t wait to see the celebrations that 2021 will bring!  The Walt Disney World Resort opened its doors in 1971, so next year will mark 50 years of making “Dreams Come True!”  We do not have any information on the festivities at this time but continue to watch the Disney Parks Blog for all updates!

If you have any more questions while you are planning your trip for next March, come back to planDisney!  We look forward to helping you again, Diana!
