Hi there Mary Ann, and a warm Canadian welcome to planDisney!
Whether you consider yourself an intergalactic expert or have a fan of all things Star Wars traveling with you on an upcoming trip, you might be aware of the importance of
wielding one's own lightsaber. As the great Obi-Wan Kenobi might say - it's a more elegant weapon of a civilized age.
In the past you might have heard tales of Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple taking place at
Disney's Hollywood Studios, but unfortunately at the present time this is no longer offered to guests. Nowadays, off-planet travelers have since gained access to
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. I remember how incredible the experience was for Younglings and would-be Padawans alike during select
Star Wars Day at Sea sailings on Disney Cruise Line. Instead, there are some alternative activities that may be similar but come at varying price points:
- You may choose to purchase your own Lightsaber at locations including Once Upon a Toy, or practice putting one together at Tatooine Traders.
- A more advanced building experience awaits at Savi's Workshop - Handbuilt Lightsabers as Gatherers from across the galaxy collect "scrap metal" and assist you in assembling a hilt in one of four themes before igniting your lightsaber in a special ceremonial moment.
- Your skills may be put to the test during a Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser voyage by the masterful Saja, who will allow you to temporarily wield a lightsaber or shield as part of their special training session onboard the Halcyon.
As I always say when presenting anyone with a lightsaber: always protect yourself and your things, by avoiding the radius of their swings!
You're always welcome to come back to planDisney to
ask me any more questions you may have to help you on your upcoming trips. May the Force be with you on your next adventure!
