Is there such a thing as "Disney dollars" or the like that I can give my granddaughters to use when they go to Disney World for the first time? I don't want to just give them cash--that's so "boring". I want to put a little sna

Hi, JoAnn! Yes, there is absolutely such a thing as Disney Dollars and they are a fantastic way to sprinkle extra pixie dust  for little Disney fans. They are the official currency of Walt Disney World Resort, the Disneyland Resort and many Disney Store locations. They are available for purchase in 3 denominations - $1, $5 and $10 - each with unique Disney Character portraits. During my family's trip last month, our younger daughter pulled one of her teeth at Magic Kingdom Park (that may be the most unforgettable Disney memory for us!). Thankfully, after much worry about whether the Tooth Fairy would find her while on vacation, she did awaken to Disney Dollars and pixie dust under her pillow. She is still wondering whether it was Tooth Fairy or Tinker Bell who left that bit of magic!

To order Disney Dollars before your granddaughters' trip, you can either call and purchase them with your credit card, or mail in an order with cashier's check or money order. Please note that if you do order them via phone or mail, then you will have a $15 shipping charge. Disney Dollars can also be purchased during the trip at Guest Relations at Walt Disney World Resort theme parks, water parks, or Disney Springs, as well as any Walt Disney World Resort hotel Front Desk or Concierge. Purchasing them during the trip will save you the shipping charges.

I hope this information helps you put together a magical surprise for your granddaughters, JoAnn. Please let me know if you have any further questions!
