Hi there, We are traveling from Australia with a 6 year old and will be staying 11 nights in mid Sept. I am looking at booking either AOA or POP resort, which would you suggest? Also can you tell me if they have character appearances at the resort hotels.

    Megan:

I would definitely recommend you choosing the Art of Animation resort over Pop Century for the most immersive Disney theming for your 6-year-old. Additionally, it will be quite warm in September and the perfect weather to enjoy its zero-entry pool with fanciful sea creatures.

Although there are no standard Character Meet-and-Greets like what you'll find in the theme parks, many of the Deluxe hotels offer Character Dining, meals with the opportunity to meet and have your picture taken with Characters. Choose from Cape May Café at Beach Club, Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort, 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian or Stitch's Breakfast at 'Ohana located in the Polynesian Resort. These meals are popular, so I recommend reservations. You can make dining reservations here for any of these resorts.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
