Hi there, Melissa!
Thanks for stopping by
planDisney. Your
Disneyland Resort vacation is just around the pixie-dusted corner! I hope you and your son are getting excited for all the magic that awaits as you put the finishing touches on your plans.
I think you’ll be happy to know that the resort’s
dining locations are extremely accommodating when it comes to
dietary restrictions due to common food allergies. Many restaurants, including full-service and quick-service locations, offer allergy-friendly menus broken down by category in addition to alternate meal options.
Mickey waffles are on my must-eat list too, and a gluten-free version can be made upon request during breakfast at most locations. In my experience, gluten-free buns and rolls can be requested at most restaurants, including Award Wieners in
Disney California Adventure Park. Their All-Beef Hot Dog and Bacon Street Dog (when served on an allergy-friendly bun) and the Filmstrip Fries are gluten-free. You should also be able to request pizza with gluten-free crust and rice noodles with marinara sauce for your son at locations in both theme parks.
Please double check in person at the resort before your son enjoys a food item I’ve recommended, as ingredients and menus are always subject to change. Don’t hesitate to ask to speak with a chef or a Cast Member trained in special diets when you arrive at a dining location regarding any specific concerns you have about your son’s needs.
I hope this information is helpful, Melissa. Please stop by again with more questions as you continue to plan your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
