Hi Cassidy,
Sounds like your family is going to have a magical spring break this year!
Temperatures in April are pretty moderate (lows in the high 50's to low 60's, and highs in the low 80's) so shorts or light weight pants work well at this time of year. I would always dress in layers and have a light jacket with you at all times but especially in the mornings and evenings. Boat rides around Disney property can be especially chilly so be prepared for that if you decide to travel by boat between your resort and the theme parks. It's also a great idea to have inexpensive rain ponchos packed in a backpack as you travel through the parks because intermittent rain showers are common in Florida year round. If you buy these at a dollar store before you leave for home instead of purchasing these at the parks, you can save some money.
Because you are visiting the Walt Disney World Resort the week preceding Easter, you will encounter very high park traffic. Assuming you are staying at a Walt Disney World resort, take advantage of
Extra Magic Hours and arrive at park opening time whenever possible. Crowds are lowest early in the day.
Springtime is a gorgeous time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort! Be sure to have your camera with you, especially when you visit Epcot because the
Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival will be in full swing while you're there. I can't wait for you to see the gorgeous topiaries and flowers all throughout Epcot! You're going to love them!
Have fun!
Jill
