Hi there, My family and I are visiting the parks toward the end of July and my dad will need to rent a motorized wheelchair/scooter. With no early entry/magic morning will we be likely to get one or will they run out? We plan to arrive around 7:30

Howdy, Lisa, and thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It’s great to have you here. I love helping my fellow Californians plan their next getaway to the Happiest Place on Earth!

I checked the Park Hours and Entertainment Schedule for your day of arrival, and it looks like Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park are currently both scheduled to open at 8:00 AM that day, with Extra Magic Hour and Magic Morning from 7:00-8:00 AM. So, if you’re planning to arrive around 7:30 AM, I would think you’d have a good shot at getting a rental wheelchair or electronic conveyance vehicle (ECV). These are both available for rent just outside the Main Entrance to Disneyland Park, near Stroller Rentals. Rental ECVs and wheelchairs are allowed inside both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park, and are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and can’t be reserved in advance.

If you’d feel better setting up a length-of-stay rental of a wheelchair or electric scooter, you may want to consider booking directly with a nearby company, such as Deckert Surgical Company, which can be reached at (714) 542-5607. This way, you won’t have to worry about arriving at the parks by a certain time in order to get an ECV. Private companies such as Deckert usually offer delivery to your hotel, too, which is a nice convenience. A length-of-stay rental would also allow you to bring your dad's electric scooter back to his hotel, which would be nice after a long Disney day, too.

If your dad needs any other special assistance, please stop by Guest Relations for more information. The Disneyland Resort does a great job of going out of their way to accommodate all Guests’ needs!

Wishing you and your family a magical summertime adventure at the Disneyland Resort!
