Bright suns, Jarrod, and welcome to planDisney! I love that you'll be going to
Star Wars Nite – it is truly a galactic experience. I'll share some tips for maximizing the fun at this after-dark event, but before that, let's talk about nighttime spectaculars!
Jarrod, I took a look at the
Hours & Events Calendar for the week of your visit, and it looks like fireworks and
Fantasmic! are scheduled for Friday and Saturday. Add these shows to your plans if you'll still be at the parks on May 2 or 3. You can even consider getting a dining package – there are some
good options for Fantasmic! that pair a meal with a prime viewing spot for the show. I do want to mention that, although it would be a real Bibbidi Bobbidi Bummer, there's always a chance that shows can be modified or cancelled due to weather conditions or other factors. Just keep that in mind and have a backup plan in case that happens!
While there won't be fireworks on Star Wars Nite, you can definitely enjoy
Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga, which has a few scheduled showings. It's an amazing projection show against the spires of Batuu. Make sure to head to the Millennium Falcon at least 30 minutes early to get a spot, and bring your lightsaber if you have one. There's a really cool moment at the end of the show that calls for all lightsabers to be activated. Here's a tip: If you don't have a lightsaber, stop at
Galactic Grill in Tomorrowland and get a drink with a Lightsaber Swizzle Stick (quantities may be limited). Then you can join the fun at the end of the Shadows of Memory show. The
Gathering of the Resistance with Rey is also in the same area. That was my favorite part of Star Wars Nite – don't miss it!
Here are a few more Star Wars Nite tips:
- Mobile order food early on the Disneyland mobile app, especially if there is something you really want to try.
- You can enter the park with an event ticket starting at 6 p.m. The fun officially begins at 9 p.m., so use the time before to eat dinner, shop, and plan the rest of your night.
- Near the end of the event, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse stop by the Main Street, U.S.A. train station to say goodnight, and it's really cute.
- If you plan to dress up, check the costume guidelines in advance to ensure you don't run into any issues.
Speaking of planning ahead, Jarrod, Disneyland will close early on May 1 and 4 for additional Star Wars Nite events. You may want to factor that in as you decide which park to visit and whether or not you want to use a Park Hopper ticket.
Jarrod, your special visit to the Happiest Place on Earth (and a galaxy far, far away) is just around the corner. I hope it's filled with laughter and happy memories. If you have any other questions as your trip approaches, you know where to find us! We're always happy to help here at planDisney.
