Hi there! My boyfriend and I visited Disney World this past December and we each bought new magic bands while we were there. We are planning to visit again in February 2019, will those magic bands still be active for us to use again?

    Hi Courtney,

Thanks for coming back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with another question!  MagicBands are so convenient, they have really made vacationing more simple and streamlined!

Once you have a MagicBand it will remain active until you choose to deactivate it or the batteries run out.  I have a first generation MagicBand from when they were first released that is still working fine.  You will be able to choose new MagicBands, as well if you wish.  That way you can match your MagicBands with your outfits!  Guests will have the option to decline a new MagicBand if you choose.  Also, if your bring your old MagicBand, you will be able to use it when boarding Disney's Magical Express and won't need to worry about the paperwork!

Prior to your visit, I would recommend logging in to My Disney Experience, to make sure your MagicBand is still linked to your account.  If they are not linked, you can link your MagicBands by clicking on the MagicBands and Cards Tab in My Disney Experience.  If your MagicBand is linked, you will see the MagicBand there, if not it simply press the link button on the right hand side.  From there you will need to enter the number on the back of each MagicBand and follow the prompts on the screen to complete the process.

I hope you have a fantastic time at Walt Disney World Resort, Courtney.  Please let us know if you have any questions, we are always happy to help.
