Hi there--love the panel! Traveling with DH & DD (1--her first time!), booked for April 23-28 @ POFQ. Do you think upgrading to Wilderness Lodge is necessary? DH thinks it would be easier for travel time & the little one. Thanks!

    Hi Abigail,

Congratulations, your daughter's first vacation to Walt Disney World is something to celebrate!

I'll be honest, if it is within your budget I would upgrade to the Wilderness Lodge.  I'll give you a couple reasons why.

First of all, with a one year old you will probably spend most of your time at the Magic Kingdom.  This is a nice boat ride from the Wilderness Lodge with the huge benefit of not having to fold up your stroller.

Again, assuming most of your time will be spent at the Magic Kingdom you are within minutes of nap and/or pool time should you need a break.  Port Orleans French Quarter is a bit further away, and you would need to ride the bus (stroller folded) to get there. You'll be more likely to take the rest you need being in a Magic Kingdom area resort because of the quick and easy access.

Another thing I like about the Wilderness Lodge is the resort dynamic.  It is a large beautiful resort, but situated within one building.  You can quickly get from your room to the resort amenities and dining without having to leave the building (which is a plus on those rainy days).

Before you make your decision I suggest you check out the accommodations section on the www.allearsnet.com website.  They have informative fact sheets and great pictures.  I hope this helps!
