Why hello there Karen, it’s great to have you at planDisney!
As a former resident of Melbourne myself, it's always so wonderful to see Australian pals making plans to make their way over to Orlando to spend their holidays at Walt Disney World Resort. Whether you're voyaging from across the other side of the Pacific or a Floridian local,
those last two weeks of December are not only full of extra festive holiday flair but also chock-a-block with folks looking to spend their Christmas in the Most Magical place on Earth!
I had a look at the operating schedule for
Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour, and at the current time it appears that this is not available from November 27 - 30, 2024 which are the dates surrounding American Thanksgiving. At the time of writing there are no bookable dates presently available after December 21, 2024 as you noticed - and it remains to be seen whether they may open up for the last few days of the year. (Fellow
planDisney Panelist and Disney Vacation Club expert Susan recently let a fellow guest in a similar situation know that tours resumed on Boxing Day last year, but the
Guest Relations Cast Members I reached out to could not confirm whether this was going to be similarly available after Christmas this year.)
Taking a look at how this offering is scheduled, guests can infer that this kind of tour that offers a very special backstage glimpse into the inner workings of
Magic Kingdom Park may not be something that operates on the busiest days of the year - especially considering how much of it is an outdoor walking tour that wouldn't be the best of experiences when combating massive holiday crowds. I do however highly recommend keeping a close eye for any updates online, and this is where so many fellow Australians consider using a trusted professional travel agent to do this for you - in my personal experience it was vastly less stressful to use the services of one to snag some highly-coveted bookings for us!
While you're here, you won't want to miss out on the
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays which will very likely be just as popular and full of thousands of others flocking for the Christmastime festivities - but perhaps not feel quite as jam packed with hustle and bustle as Magic Kingdom Park does on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. For many folks and families, packing an extra bit of patience is well worth the feeling of spending that time of year in such a special place and I'm hoping that it'll be every bit as enjoyable either way! Depending on how long you'll be spending at Walt Disney World Resort, I'll be crossing my fingers that Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tours may resume soon after Christmas and that you'll be able to snag a spot!
Wishing you the happiest holiday adventure in December!
