Hi There! Is it possible to change home resorts? We bought into DVC at Bay Lake Towers with thought our disabled son would be closer to MK. Sadly, his last trip to Disney was this past Jan. He's still with us; his condition has just regressed.

    Hi Tracy,

Thank you for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.  I certainly am sending good thoughts to you and your family and son.

Once you have purchased a membership in the Disney Vacation Club, you are not able to change your home resort.  Although I do not know the specifics of your son's condition, maybe you can consider using your points at one of the Disney Vacation Club resorts not at Walt Disney World, such as Disney's Vero Beach Resort or Disney's Hilton Head Resort.  These resorts have a lot to offer without the theme parks.  Also, don't forget that you can make reservations at the other Disney Vacation Club resorts seven months ahead of your desired check in date.  Although this can be a little tricky if you are looking for very popular times of year, I have been able to stay at all of the Disney Vacation Club Resorts on Walt Disney World property booking at the seven-month window.

Finally, I do suggest calling your Disney Vacation Club Guide.  If you are not sure of who that is, call 1-800-800-9100 to be connected with a Disney Vacation Club Guide who will better be able to explain any questions about your home resort.

Again, Tracy, I am thinking of you and your family.  Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
