Ahoy, Scott!
Welcome aboard planDisney! Can you believe you’re just days away from your epic adventure
aboard the Fantasy? With Rome as your embarkation port and the Mediterranean as your playground, you and your crew are in for a practically Herculean vacation (minus the Hydra, of course). And kicking things off with a Character Call? Now that’s what I call starting your story Once Upon a Time style!
When it comes to timing your call, my advice is to schedule it to occur before you fly across the pond. Not only does that help you avoid any international phone charges (if your mobile plan doesn’t include them), but it also simplifies things by keeping everything in your home time zone—no need to do math faster than Dash Parr when you're jet-lagged.
The
Character Call process may look a little different depending on your cruise details. Sometimes, Disney Cruise Line lets you choose a time-specific option. If so, and you'd like the call to happen while you’re in Europe, be sure to select Central European Summer Time (CEST) (if available) when choosing your time zone. That way, the call lines up with your local time “
when in Rome."
Other times, you'll receive a code and a number to call at your convenience. This is the only option that has been showing up for me anytime I try to schedule a Character Call. If that's the case, it actually gives you a bit of flexibility—you can pick the perfect moment (maybe after some gelato or just before bedtime) for a magical surprise from a favorite Disney pal!
No matter how the call is set up, just hearing that friendly voice on the line will add a little extra sparkle before you even step foot on the gangway. Scott, I hope this helps you and your daughter start your cruise countdown with a grin bigger than Genie out of the lamp!
Sea ya real soon with a June full of sun, sea, and shipshape adventures,
Dustin
