Hi there! I wonder, if you can drive up to park and drop off/pick up people without staying and paying for parking at the parks? Can we go to a Disney hotel, without being guests, walk around and have a walk-in meal? Or do we need rervations? Thank you!

Hello there, Ana Beatriz! Welcome back to planDisney! Thank you so much for taking the time to reach back out and ask another wonderful Walt Disney World Resort vacation question!

It is most definitively possible to drop off Guests at the front of any of the four theme parks or any destination at Walt Disney World Resort for that matter! For many of the theme parks, it is quite a trek from the parking area to the actual front of the theme park. With this in mind, this is an excellent option for elderly Guests or Guests with disabilities that may benefit from reduced distance to the park entrance. All you will need to do is let the Cast Member at the entrance to the parking area know that you need to drop off a Guest and they will direct you to the correct lane. Keep in mind, many of these drop-off areas do not access the parking area directly so you will need to re-enter if you intend on parking and walking up to the entrance yourself.

You are also welcome to visit any of the Disney Resort hotels even if you are not actively staying at them! This is a great way to explore different resorts and sample some of their offerings prior to staying with them. At certain times of the year or popular destinations, you may be required to have advanced dining reservations in order to park. This is often the case with resorts such as Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Disney’s Boardwalk Inn. It is also important to keep in mind that free self-parking only applies to your time visiting the Disney Resort hotel. If you plan on visiting one of the theme parks after your experience, you will need to move your vehicle to the proper parking area.

Personally, I love the opportunity to shop and try out dining locations at all of the different Disney Resort hotels! My favorite, though, has got to be Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. This leisurely resort perfectly captures the calming atmosphere of the Pacific and has some amazing dining options!

Best of luck as you continue to plan your perfect visit to Walt Disney World Resort! Be sure to stop back by if we can provide any additional assistance!
