Hi there, I will be visiting WDW with a party of 6 and have already made dining reservations. I know it states that there will be atip of 20% added to the bill, but how does this get added? Is it on the bill and we pay right there or charged to our room?

    Hi Jennifer,

I bet you are getting excited about your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World and I hope you got the dining reservations you were hoping for. With so many places to choose from, that seems to always be the hardest decisions for my family.

You are correct about the gratuity being automatic for parties of 6 or larger. However, good news is that it is 18% rather than 20%! Any additional tipping is at your discretion. If you have the dining plan, your meal credits will be deducted from your bill and the only charge you should see on the bill is gratuity (unless you purchased above and beyond your plan credits or purchased items not included in the plan such as alcoholic beverages or special items such as souvenir cups). It is up to you when and how you pay for this. You can either pay for it at the table using a credit card or cash or you can charge it to your room.

I hope this clarifies the gratuity payment process for you. Have a magical time!

    Bon Appétit!
