Hi therei have seen a lot of opinions about how to get to port canevral. Some people say get the DCL coach from your Disney hotel, but other people are saying go back to Orlando airport and get the DCL coach from there as you will get to the ship earlier?

    Hi there, Mark!

Ahoy and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  It appEARs that you have a Disney Cruise Line vacation planned after your time at Walt Disney World Resort!  So much fun!  And, you have it planned right…after busy days at the theme parks you will welcome the relaxation that awaits you onboard a Disney Cruise Line ship.

Disney Cruise Line offers ground transfers to and from Orlando International Airport or Walt Disney World Resort hotels to Port Canaveral.  Port Canaveral is approximately one hour from Orlando International Airport OR Walt Disney World Resort so my recommendation would be to take the transportation from your Resort.  Otherwise you will have to get to the airport which can take some time and then a transfer to Port Canaveral.  The night before your cruise, you will receive information at your hotel about the time you need to have your luggage ready for your departure, but it is usually around 8:00 – 9:00AM with a departure shortly thereafter.

Once you arrive at the port and complete check-in and registration you will receive a card with your boarding group number.  Embarkation will begin between 11:00 – 11:30AM (assuming no delays) and then once your group has been called you are invited to board the ship and your adventure at sea will officially begin!

If you do plan on booking Disney Cruise Line transfers, contact Disney Cruise Line at (800) 951-3532 or contact your travel agent.  Transfers need to be booked at least three days prior to your voyage.

Wishing you a magical and memorable adventure at sea AND on land!
