Hello there. I am going to disney world next month, and i was wondering if i had to pay extra for the option to park hop? or is it allowed for everyone?

    Hi Rebekah! Welcome to planDisney.

September is a wonderful time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort. The Halloween season is well underway and more importantly, the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival will be running. And speaking of EPCOT, a brand-new restaurant in the Japan pavilion, Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya, may be open by the time you visit. I love Japanese cuisine and I'm really excited to try out this new offering in the World Showcase! Be sure to follow along with the Disney Parks Blog for any announcements related to this sure-to-be-popular restaurant.

As an International Guest, you'll want to check what type of theme park tickets you purchased. For example, at this time, with the 14-Day Magic Ticket or the 7-Day Magic Ticket, the Park Hopper Option is listed as already included. However, if you're waiting to purchase tickets until you arrive at the resort (not recommended as you want to ensure there's availability when you are visiting), it would be an option that you'd have to add on for an additional cost. Other ticket offers that you may have purchased might also not include the Park Hopper Option. My advice would be to check your ticket confirmation and the terms and conditions to see if this option is included with your ticket. You can also call the resort to confirm!

At this time, if your ticket includes the Park Hopper Option, you can begin to hop to another park starting at 2 p.m. This gives you a lot of flexibility as you can be immersed in the magic of one park in the morning and then a different type of magic in the afternoon. When park hopping, I try to strategize which parks to visit so I'm not spending a lot of time in transit. After all, the Walt Disney World Resort is roughly the size of San Fransisco, California, and traveling between parks can sometimes take a while! I will usually hop from Magic Kingdom Park to EPCOT (or vice versa) as they are two easy Walt Disney World Monorail rides away from each other. I will also park hop from EPCOT to Disney's Hollywood Studios since they are connected by the Disney Skyliner. For traveling between EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios, just be sure to use the International Gateway exit/entrance to EPCOT (in between the France and the United Kingdom pavilions of World Showcase) since the Disney Skyliner is not available at the front of the park.

Rebekah, I hope you have a wonderful visit to the resort. Be sure to check and see if Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is being offered during the dates you are there. It's such a great way to get into the Halloween spirit. If you have any other questions, please reach out to me and I'd be happy to help you avoid the tricks and only enjoy the treats!

There's the whole world at your feet,
    Matt
