Hi there, I am going to Disney World for the first time in two weeks! My husband went several times as a child and he really wants to see the opening ceremony at Magic Kingdom. How early would we need to catch the bus to make that happen?

Hello Melissa and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
The Magic Kingdom Welcome Show is certainly a magical way to start the day. The show typically begins 20 minutes or so before the scheduled opening time on days when there are not morning Extra Magic Hours at Magic Kingdom. We typically like to arrive at the bag check 30 minutes before the scheduled opening to make sure we make it on time. The time you will need to leave is dependent on your resort as some are much closer than others. Nevertheless, I would recommend being at your bus stop at least one hour before your desired arrival time. This will give you time regardless of the distance and also allow for a bit of wait for the bus to arrive at your resort. So, if you want to arrive at bag check at 8:30 (for example), be at your resort bus stop by 7:30. You may arrive early, but in this case it is much better to be too early than to be too late and miss the show.

Wave to Mickey and the gang for me!
