Hello there, first trip to Hawaii,me,dh,ds(10)dd(10), don't know where to start..too early to book rooms? should i try and book dining and activities now or wait until next year? better to get flights through disney, coming from FL? thanks for the help!

    Hi Sharon,

Thanks so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.  Planning your first trip to Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa sounds wonderful.  The resort is positively beautiful!

You can book rooms at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa 499 days in advance if you are using a traditional payment method such as a credit card.  You can call 1-866-443-4763 to make this reservation.  If you are booking this vacation using Disney Vacation Club vacation points, you can book 11 months ahead if this is your home resort, and seven months ahead if you have a different home resort.  If you are a Disney Vacation Club member, you can call Disney Vacation Club Member Services at 1-800-800-9800 for help making the reservation.

I spoke with a cast member who let me know that activities such as dining and excursions at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa can be booked 180 days ahead.  Even though this is still a long time away, you can visit the website I linked earlier in this answer to explore the options.

Finally, it is probably a good idea to look on your own for flights.  You can certainly ask the cast member with whom you work if it is possible for them to help you with this; however, you may find that given the many options online today, you will know what is best for your family in terms of flights.  I suggest at least doing the initial exploring for flights yourself first.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Sharon.  I would like to thank my fellow Disney Parks Moms Panelists Dolly, Andrea, Erin, and Beth C. for their help with this answer.  Have a great time planning your vacation, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions!
